The implementation included core Point Of Sale capabilities typical of retail POS solutions, such as real time transaction processing, terminal and device management, pricing and promotion handling, receipt generation, and offline transaction buffering for continuity of sales. Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail POS was configured to support store-level operational workflows and point-of-sale configuration consistent with multi-store retail operations. Operational coverage focused on in-store retail systems and point-of-sale terminals used by store associates, with implementation design oriented toward centralized POS application configuration and local store terminal management. The deployment architecture emphasized the Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail POS application as the central transactional layer for store checkout and retail operations. Avanade provided post-implementation services beginning in February 2017, delivering ongoing support of the new solution for Dynamics AX POS, management and resolution of incidents, and execution of integrated tests. Avanade also performed task estimation and planning, and prepared proposals for improvement on the applications, supporting governance activities such as incident lifecycle management, test governance, and continuous improvement planning.
