| SAP | Legacy | SAP HCM Benefits | Benefits Administration | HCM | n/a | 2014 | 2015 |
In 2014, Tenneco implemented SAP HCM Benefits, a Benefits Administration application. The deployment positioned SAP HCM Benefits as the primary system for benefits configuration and enrollment within Tenneco’s SAP HCM landscape, with configuration focused on eligibility rules, plan setup, open enrollment workflows and life event processing.
SAP HCM Benefits was configured to provide both HR administrator and employee-facing capabilities, including benefits enrollment workflows, plan configuration and administrative consoles used by site-level HR staff. The implementation emphasized role-based administration so HR administrative assistants could manage new hire enrollments, ID badge provisioning and routine benefits inquiries at site locations such as Skokie, IL, while employees accessed self-service enrollment and informational reporting.
Operational scope included Human Resources administration, plant HR support and coordination with accounts payable and payroll-facing processes as operational stakeholders. Governance centered on role-based access controls and HR process ownership, with site HR practitioners responsible for personnel file updates, enrollment processing and routine benefits communications enabled by SAP HCM Benefits. SAP HCM Benefits is documented here as the application supporting the Benefits Administration business function at Tenneco.
