| Workday | Legacy | Workday Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, AES Corporation implemented Workday Absence Management as its Absence and Leave Management solution. The implementation targeted HR-led absence workflows across the enterprise and was executed through Workday tenants including implementation, Sandbox and Production during a phased rollout.
Workday Absence Management was configured to support vacation, parental leave and other leave of absence types, with calculated fields and custom business logic applied to reporting, eligibility and event handling. The team built Workday Standard Reports and Custom Reports and used calculated fields across business processes, and exposed reports as RaaS REST calls to feed integrations and downstream studio processes.
Integrations included inbound and outbound EIB integrations and CCB integrations to support HR, Payroll and Finance data exchanges, leveraging XML, XSLT and XPATH transformations where required. The implementation included bulk data validation and loading across tenants and ongoing maintenance of custom EIBs to process large-volume transactions and integration orchestration.
Governance covered test planning, end-to-end system testing, UAT and parallel testing for HR, Payroll and Finance, along with bi-annual Workday upgrade support and day-to-day issue handling. Operational governance included weekly updates to stakeholders and change control of absence configurations and reports to support the Absence and Leave Management program.

| Hitachi Vantara | Legacy | Hitachi Ventyx FocalPoint Suite | Asset Performance Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2016 | 2017 |
In 2016 AES Corporation deployed Hitachi Ventyx FocalPoint Suite to provide Asset Performance Management capabilities for its distribution business. The Hitachi Ventyx FocalPoint Suite was positioned to strengthen asset health visibility and maintenance planning across AES Corporation distribution assets, aligning the application name with the Asset Performance Management category for operational clarity.
Implementation scope centered on Distribution Operations and Emergency Response, where outage management is business critical and directly tied to customer experience. The Outage Management System OMS and Netcadops remain primary tools used by nearly 2,000 personnel for normal dispatch operations and storm management, and the Hitachi Ventyx FocalPoint Suite was provisioned to operate alongside those systems to inform asset condition and maintenance prioritization.
Configuration emphasized Asset Performance Management capabilities typical for the category, including asset health modeling, condition based maintenance workflows, risk based prioritization, and structured work planning and scheduling. The deployment supported functional workflows for inspection data ingestion, failure mode analysis, and maintenance lifecycle management intended to feed dispatch and emergency response decisioning without replacing the operational OMS and Netcadops tooling.
Governance focused on operational alignment between asset management and distribution dispatch, with rollout targeting the teams responsible for outage response and maintenance planning. The narrative reflects AES Corporation Hitachi Ventyx FocalPoint Suite Asset Performance Management implementation as an effort to centralize asset condition intelligence to support Distribution Operations and Emergency Response and to reinforce the Premier Customer Experience driven by the outage management environment.
