In 2020 Ornua implemented SAP Concur Expense to centralize Expense Management across its finance operations. The deployment targeted management of staff expenses, administration of staff credit cards, and standardized supplier invoice handling for the company’s finance and accounts payable teams.
SAP Concur Expense was configured with expense reporting and corporate card reconciliation workflows, vendor account setup screens to capture Treasury required information, GL and cost centre mapping for invoice posting, and approval routing to align with internal controls. The configuration supported daily bank reconciliation inputs from the Treasury Team and weekly supplier payment batching in line with agreed payment terms.
Operational integrations were established to exchange posting data with Ornua’s general ledger and to receive bank reconciliation files from the Treasury Team, enabling reconciliation of supplier and staff accounts and ensuring GLs are reconciled at month end. The implementation covered finance functions responsible for reconciliations, supplier query resolution, and employee expense inquiries.
Governance was formalized around daily processing of Treasury reconciliations, weekly supplier payment runs, and month end GL reconciliations, with processes to ensure invoices are posted to correct GLs and cost centres. Ongoing operational duties include reconciling staff credit cards, handling supplier and employee queries, and maintaining vendor account data required by Treasury.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central was configured for Employee Central and Performance management modules, with additional module administration maintained by HR. Configuration work emphasized core HR data integrity, performance workflows, and support for the reward cycle, including annual salary review, bonus determination and benchmarking inputs as part of compensation governance.
The deployment included integrations with a payroll interface to the CORE HR dataset, an Applicant Tracking System and a Learning Management Tool, supporting end to end HR processes from hiring to payroll and learning. Integration work aligned data flows for global standardization, and the system services employees, managers and HR contacts across Ornua’s international footprint for transactional HR and self service activity.
Operational governance is centered on HR system administration, case management for employee and manager queries, and stewardship of people metrics. HR maintains responsibility for the quality and integrity of all people reporting, global salary survey submissions and benchmarking data, and ongoing configuration of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central to sustain standardized HR processes.

The configuration emphasized core CMMS capabilities, including work order creation and tracking, preventive maintenance plans, asset and maintenance documentation, and equipment failure and quality issue logging. Technicians used Fluke eMaint CMMS to record downtime events for packing and filling machines, capture maintenance histories for PLC driven assets, and maintain up to date maintenance documentation in line with GMP and Good Documentation Practice requirements.
Operational integration centered on tying frontline troubleshooting and process control activities to the CMMS workflow, with technicians referencing HMI and SCADA system screens and PLC programs such as Siemens S7 and TIA Portal during fault diagnosis and work order updates. The environment also included parallel use of other maintenance tools, with machine downtime reports maintained through CMMS systems such as eMaint and Piranha, and ongoing monitoring of building management systems and process control valves and pumps informing maintenance priorities.
Governance and process changes reinforced procedural controls, maintenance documentation standards, and cross functional coordination, technicians worked closely with Production, Quality, and team leaders for daily changeovers and startups while using Fluke eMaint CMMS to log tasks and adjustments. The deployment positioned Ornua Fluke eMaint CMMS as the operational backbone for preventive maintenance, downtime capture, and work execution at the Mitchelstown site, supporting technician-led troubleshooting and routine maintenance workflows.
