In 2016, The Original Factory Shop implemented Sage Business Cloud X3, ex Sage ERP X3 as its ERP Financial platform. The deployment was led from the finance function with a finance project lead role responsible for integrating core finance capabilities alongside purchase order, order management, warehouse management and inventory management systems and the retail POS estate.
The implementation emphasis was on configuration of general ledger structure and control processes, including GL design and the introduction of balance sheet control procedures into finance reporting. The program included a full review and cleansing of master data in SAGE 200 and the stock system, process mapping of existing finance and non finance workflows, and a scoping review to define to be processes and the implementation plan.
Integration work focused on interfacing Sage Business Cloud X3 with the WMS, inventory management and POS systems and with other ERP systems where required, with detailed interface specification and a UAT plan to validate end to end flows. Development of the business solution design on Sage Business Cloud X3 covered transaction routing, data exchange points and reconciliation controls to support retail operational cadence.
Governance and change activities were driven by the CFO and the finance project lead, including the introduction of a financial structure within the finance team and project management from the finance angle. The delivery included updated account timetables, UAT coordination, and revised management information workflows to support stakeholders across the business.
