In 2015 The Suddath Companies executed an HR Stabilization Project to stabilize and upgrade its Oracle PeopleSoft HCM Core HR environment. The project targeted existing HCM and FSCM environments that were running PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 with PeopleTools 8.50 and no prior Maintenance Packs or Bundles applied.
As part of the effort the team upgraded PeopleTools from 8.50 to 8.52, then applied all available Maintenance Packs and Bundles through Bundle 26, aligning PeopleTools and application binaries to supported baseline levels. Configuration work focused on Core HR functional layers and system maintenance sequencing to preserve data integrity during pack application. Bundle and maintenance sequencing was applied across both HCM and FSCM instances to ensure consistent patch state.
The implementation included a physical datacenter move between locations and deployment of the application middle tier on WebLogic 10gR3 with Tuxedo 11gR1 supporting backend transaction processing. Infrastructure activities were coordinated with the PeopleTools upgrade to minimize configuration drift and maintain application connectivity. This architecture narrative reflects a two tier application stack with PeopleTools and application servers separated from database and transaction router layers.
Governance for the HR Stabilization Project was organized around staged maintenance windows and bundle sequencing to reduce risk while bringing Oracle PeopleSoft HCM to a supported state. The program was led internally and documented as an enterprise stabilization effort for Core HR.
