| FIS Global | Legacy | FIS Integrated Payables | AP Automation | ERP | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020 University of Toledo implemented FIS Integrated Payables to centralize accounts payable processing and payment orchestration. The deployment is categorized as AP Automation and was integrated with the institution's Banner Operational Data Store finance reporting views to preserve invoice and payment-level metadata.
Deployment configuration focused on invoice-to-pay workflows including check and Automated Clearing House handling, payment date and check number management, and reconciliation flagging. The implementation mapped Banner ODS INVOICE_CHECK fields into FIS Integrated Payables, including INVOICE, CHECK_NUMBER, BANK, NET_AMOUNT, CHECK_DATE, AUTOMATED_CLEARING_HOUSE_IND, RECONCILIATION_IND, and CANCEL_IND, with explicit source columns such as FABINCK.FABINCK_CHECK_NUM, FABINCK.FABINCK_NET_AMT, FABBKTP.FABBKTP_AMT, FABCHKS.FABHCKS_ACTIVITY_DATE, GXVBANK.GXVBANK_ACCT_NAME, and SPRIDEN.SPRIDEN_ID.
Integration consumed the Banner ODS finance reporting view named INVOICE_CHECK and referenced the ODS version 8.5 metadata, sourcing transactional records from FABINCK, FABCHKS, FABBKTP, GXVBANK, and SPRIDEN. Operational coverage centered on University Finance functions responsible for accounts payable, disbursements, and bank reconciliation, enabling payment execution and finance reporting to draw from a consistent AP Automation data model.
Governance leveraged record-level control fields present in the Banner ODS, using ADMINISTRATIVE_GROUP and PROCESS_GROUP values to align payment visibility with institutional authorization. Auditability and workflow sequencing used CHECK_USER_ID and CHECK_ACTIVITY_DATE for change tracking, while RECONCILIATION_IND and BANK_RECONCILIATION_IND values were used to drive reconciliation workflows and exception handling within FIS Integrated Payables.
The integration retained Banner ODS business definitions and data types for the INVOICE_CHECK target as documented in version 8.5, maintaining alignment between FIS Integrated Payables and the university finance reporting view. FIS Integrated Payables serves as the AP Automation engine interfacing directly with Banner ODS records to support the university's accounts payable and bank reconciliation processes.
