In 2017 The Wise Company implemented Sage 100 (formerly MAS 90 & MAS 200) as its ERP Financial system in a cloud-hosted environment to replace in-house servers and provide redundancy across its manufacturing and e-commerce locations. The move was driven by a need to eliminate single points of failure at headquarters and to enable continuous operations across multiple sites and offices.
Summit Hosting remotely provisioned the new environment and executed a data and application migration of Sage 100 (formerly MAS 90 & MAS 200), operating under a compressed two week cutover window because the company was closing the server-hosting headquarters. The implementation encompassed core ERP Financial functionality aligned to manufacturing transaction flows and e-commerce order processing, and required coordination with other vendors for licensing and installation activities.
The deployment architecture was built on two backend servers and three terminal servers that host 73 employee accounts, with specific integrations implemented for manufacturing and e-commerce workflows. A notable integration task involved connecting and licensing nine label printers across three separate locations using Bartender label software, which required vendor authorization and configuration to ensure printing continuity from the cloud-hosted Sage 100 environment.
Project governance included initial scoping meetings, a tightly scheduled implementation plan, and ongoing operational support through Summit Hosting CloudAssist. The go-live occurred on schedule after two weeks and operational users reported a faster, seamless experience, with redundancy preventing full-company outages during subsequent power and internet incidents.
