Sage 50 is used as the primary payroll engine at Thompson Aero Seating Ltd Portadown, supporting end to end payroll processing and statutory reporting to HMRC.
The deployment of Sage 50 covers functional payroll modules including processing monthly payroll runs, uploading overtime, deductions and additional payments, generating payslips and employee portal uploads, handling new starts and leavers with P45 generation, and running year end payroll reports. The system is configured to calculate statutory pay elements such as CSP, SSP and SPP, compute pro rata changes in basic pay and overtime, and capture agency timesheets, clocking records and various allowances including travel, shift and continental pay.
Operational integration is executed through regular data exchanges and third party interactions, with RTI reporting to HMRC, liaison workflows with CSA, pensions providers and childcare voucher providers, and distribution of payslips via employee portals. The application is operated by a central payroll team overseen by the company CFO, and it interfaces procedurally with HR, production supervisors and managers to maintain personnel and payroll alignment across the Portadown site.
