In 2017 Tidyco implemented Sage 1000 as its ERP Financial system, replacing Sage 500 ERP formerly MAS 500. The deployment targeted warehouse and distribution operations at the Derby site and centralized financial and inventory transaction processing through Sage 1000.
Sage 1000 was configured to support inventory control, sales order processing, goods receipt booking and inter warehouse transfers together with core financial ledger functions. Functional workflows documented included booking in goods and verifying quantities on arrival, recording stock movements for picking and packing, and posting dispatch and collection transactions into the finance ledger.
Operational use cases executed through Sage 1000 and associated paper workflows covered daily unpacking and goods in processes, inter warehouse transfers, weekly collections scheduling for Unipart, booking sales orders onto TNT for same day collection, and stock allocation for field service vans. Warehouse procedures incorporated cycle counts during picking, transfer of stock from warehouse to vans, and verification signoffs to ensure quantities matched paperwork, with warehouse staff maintaining reach truck and counterbalance licenses to support pallet handling.
Governance changes documented include formalized goods receipt signoff, routine stock reconciliation during picking, and weekly collection booking responsibilities embedded into daily operations. The implementation positioned Sage 1000 to manage Tidyco order to cash and inventory financial controls while supporting visible warehouse operational workflows and customer delivery schedules to customers such as Unipart and Bombardier.
