Infrastructure upgrades supported the rollout, including virtual networks, fiber optic links, high performance switches, SAN storage and Blade servers, and the telephony platform was migrated to VoIP. A disaster recovery plan was implemented to protect BI availability and underlying transactional systems.
IT governance and operating model changes accompanied the technical work, with creation of IT management and adoption of agile methodologies for application development, aligning IT priorities with functional owners and increasing participation of business unit leads. As a result of the integrated architecture and process automation 95% of business processes were automated, ERP and CRM operated with real time interfaces, telephony costs fell by 65% and annual placements grew from 500 MDP in 2007 to 10,000 MDP in 2014. The Microsoft Power BI implementation anchored the Analytics and BI capability used by finance and operational stakeholders across Mexico.
