| Sterling Talent Solutions | Legacy | Sterling Background Check | BackGround Screening | HCM | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014 United Bank implemented Sterling Background Check to centralize and standardize pre-employment screening across its recruiting organization. United Bank is a 2450 employee financial institution and the implementation targeted recruiting workflows that supported a 700+ employee banking footprint spanning retail branches and back office operations across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, including hiring up to SVP and Executive level positions.
The Sterling Background Check deployment focused on operationalizing BackGround Screening workflows, configuring screening packages and case orchestration to align with role-based hiring profiles. Sterling Background Check was configured to handle intake, candidate ordering, adjudication flags and results receipt, enabling Recruiting and HR Generalist teams to manage full-cycle recruiting activities with screening embedded in offer and onboarding workflows.
Integration work explicitly included the Applicant Tracking System Ultimate Software, where Sterling Background Check was integrated to automate order submission from the ATS and return screening results into candidate records. The operational coverage included recruiting, HR administration, hiring managers and executive stakeholders, and the implementation was used in coordination with external recruiting vendors when needed.
Governance was established by centralizing a single pre-employment screening vendor under Sterling Talent Solutions, creating standardized vendor processes and reporting. United Bank created reports tied to screening and recruiting data that were used by executives, hiring managers and HR to understand and ultimately reduce turnover rates and shorten time-to-fill periods, supporting ongoing recruiting process improvements.

| Fiserv | Legacy | Fiserv Signature Bank Platform | Core Banking | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017 United Bank implemented Fiserv Signature Bank Platform as its Core Banking application to support online account management and an enterprise reporting system for its asset management and credit card portfolios. The implementation delivered a customer-facing web application for registered customers to view account details, execute transfers, enroll in bill pay, add payees, manage risk alerts, and receive messages from Customer Service while the subsidiary built an Enterprise Reporting System to support portfolio management and performance analysis of asset management and reward-bearing credit card products.
Fiserv Signature Bank Platform was configured to provide Online Account Management modules, bill pay and payee management, funds transfer workflows, customer messaging, and reporting extraction points for the ERS. Functional capabilities implemented included account inquiry and transaction posting workflows, biller enrollment and bill presentment routines, reward and credit card portfolio reporting interfaces, and reconciliation routines that linked interest calculations and gain/loss accounts to the general ledger.
The technical architecture blended web application front ends with SOAP based web services over HTTP, a payments processing stack that included iSeries servers and migration work toward ISO payment standards, and data integration layers for Direct BAI, SWIFT, Non-BAI Controlled Disbursement and Shared Draft Products mapped through Electronic Window source tables. Payment channel coverage and standards addressed in the project work included SWIFT, ACH, NACHA, SEPA, RTGS/NEFT and ISO 20022 payment formats, while transactional and reporting feeds reconciled to the general ledger.
Delivery and governance followed Agile and SDLC practices with the project team executing SCRUM ceremonies where product owner and acting scrum master responsibilities were maintained, Jira was used for epics and user stories and backlog prioritization, and JAD sessions were used for requirements and pre-validation. Data governance and analytics work used Erwin for conceptual, logical and physical data models, detailed source to target data mapping, ETL pipelines for the data warehouse, complex SQL for data validation, and testing artifacts exercised via SOAP UI and HP Quality Center with functional walkthroughs and user acceptance testing.
