| SAS Institute | Legacy | SAS/AF | Apps Development | PaaS | n/a | 1992 | 1993 | In 1992, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven developed an Executive Information System for general hospitals in Belgium using SAS/AF as the application framework within the Apps Development domain. The work continued into 1993 and the prototype was demonstrated in March 1993, establishing the system as an academic prototype for hospital executive reporting. The implementation used SAS/AF FRAME entries to construct interactive user interfaces and deliver drill down financial, patient and personnel dashboards, and it leveraged SAS/GRAPH to generate interactive reports and graphics. Functional capabilities implemented included executive dashboards, drill down reporting, on screen graphics generation, and menu driven report navigation consistent with Apps Development decision support workflows. Operational scope focused on executive reporting for general hospitals across Belgium and affected finance, patient administration, and personnel management business functions to support executive decision making. Governance and rollout were organized as a prototype academic development and demonstration program with the March 1993 demonstration serving as the primary validation milestone for potential further deployment. |
