University of Maryland Medical System trained and educated HR units on Workday system updates and processes and embedded procedural documentation into the ongoing HR governance model.

Epic ASAP configuration included an Emergency Department Build, comprehensive physician build and provider build workstreams, patient movement and disaster workflow builds, and workstation-level print mapping and EPS support. The deployment also incorporated BCMA related training support, user and training environment provisioning, custom code development, and Chronicles database and Interconnect programming to support transaction and interface requirements for Epic ASAP. Integrations and rollout coverage were explicit, with an ADT implementation and a Cerner Lab interface executed in June 2017 for one site. Go-live sites and dates included Saint Josephs Medical Center October 2014, University of Maryland Medical Center November 2015 including Midtown Campus and Trauma Resuscitation Unit, and later expansions to Shore Medical Center campuses and Charles Regional Medical Center in 2018. The environment underwent platform upgrades during the program, documented as Epic 2012-2015 and Epic 2015-2017 upgrade cycles. Governance and operationalization were led through defined implementation roles, including ASAP Implementation Team Lead, ASAP Physician Build Lead, Provider Focus Group Lead, Test Lead for unit and integrated testing, and Print Lead for enterprise printing and workstation mapping. Change control and rules governance ran through WE/OTX rule change control and an LOR workgroup, and operational support included production support and patient movement workgroup activities to sustain Epic ASAP across the system.
