In 2012, University of Salford implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as an ERP Financial platform to centralize core financial processes. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was deployed to consolidate financial accounting and controlling capabilities across the institution's central finance office and departmental accounting units.
Configuration emphasis covered SAP Financial Accounting and Controlling functional areas, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, and statutory financial reporting. The implementation included chart of accounts standardization, period-end close workflows driven by ECC financial modules, and role based authorization models to support finance process controls and auditability.
The technical footprint followed a classical SAP ERP ECC 6.0 architecture serving as the financial transaction and reconciliation backbone. Governance established centralized finance process ownership, documented accounting procedures, and a phased cutover and go live plan, with project activity also recorded as ECC Feb 2020 May 2020 in source project notes.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Cloud HCM Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2022 | 2022 |
In 2022 University of Salford implemented Oracle Cloud HCM Absence Management as part of a coordinated Oracle Fusion HCM rollout. The implementation was led from the internal client side under a Payroll Systems Transformation Project Coordinator, and it was executed alongside deployments of Oracle Time & Labor, Absence, and Payroll modules to replace the institution's SAP ECC 6.0 HCM environment.
The Oracle Cloud HCM Absence Management deployment focused on core Absence and Leave Management capabilities, including absence recording, entitlement calculations, approvals workflows, and integration points for payroll-ready absence balances. Configuration activity centered on aligning absence rules with university leave policies, mapping entitlement calculations into payroll feeds, and establishing Time and Labor capture for hours and exceptions.
Integrations were explicitly coordinated with CoreHR and the applicant tracking system to ensure HR transactional data flows and payroll transactional data flows remained consistent across systems. Operational scope covered HR and Payroll functions at the university level, with the project coordinator managing data flow transformations, cross-system reconciliation points, and cutover sequencing for absence, time, and payroll transactions.
Governance was structured around an internal client-side coordination model, with the project coordinator driving process improvement for existing HR transactional and Payroll transactional processes. Rollout emphasis was on integrating Oracle Time & Labor, Absence, and Payroll modules with core HR processes, establishing governance for ongoing absence administration, and documenting updated transactional workflows for HR and Payroll teams.
