In 2017, Usher Transport implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP as its ERP Financial system. The deployment centralized core finance operations and explicitly covered accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll across the organization.
Microsoft Dynamics GP was configured to support account reconciliation workflows and terminal-level financial reporting, using Great Plains reporting capabilities to produce weekly and monthly statements. Functional modules implemented included accounts receivable ledger, accounts payable processing, payroll posting and reconciliation routines, with reporting organized for both terminal-level and consolidated company views.
The implementation included operational oversight of finance teams, supervising staff in accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and two managers, and instituting regular reporting and reconciliation cadences. Processes were structured to provide standardized budgeting inputs for upper management and to reinforce controls around collections and reconciliations.
As an explicit outcome, the deployment of Microsoft Dynamics GP coincided with an 80% reduction in past due accounts receivable. The continued use of Microsoft Dynamics GP and Great Plains reporting sustained weekly and monthly visibility into the companys financial position at the terminal level and company-wide.

In 2014, Usher Transport implemented Paycor Payroll to centralize its Payroll processing across the company. The Paycor Payroll deployment was delivered via a Paycor Citrix payroll system, and it supported weekly pay cycles for approximately 300 employees across payroll, accounting, and HR functions.
Operational configuration emphasized core Payroll capabilities, including new employee onboarding data entry, ongoing employee record maintenance for name, address, W-4, state and health deductions, and time-off administration for vacation and PTO submissions. The implementation included manual and audited submission workflows where weekly hours and gross wages were submitted and verified, maintenance of a master employee spreadsheet to preserve data accuracy, and routine generation and mailing of weekly checks and annual W-2s.
Compliance and exception processing were formalized in the Paycor Payroll environment, with documented handling of levies and garnishments, Chapter 13 deductions, child support orders, and wage verifications requiring signed releases. The system use extended to completing quarterly BLS 3020 forms and filing all payroll paperwork into employee personnel files, tying Paycor Payroll directly into HR recordkeeping and regulatory reporting processes.
Governance was operationalized by the in-house payroll manager from December 2013 through August 2017, who owned audit checks, timely responses to served garnishments and levies, and the submission cadence for payroll data. Control points included weekly audits of submitted pay, verification of PTO entries against requested weeks, and retention of signed wage verification documentation, creating a disciplined workflow around the Paycor Payroll application and related HR and accounting procedures.

Trimble TMW.Suite was configured to deliver core Transportation Management workflows, including dispatch and load planning, order management, freight billing and settlement, carrier management and accounting interfaces. The implementation included TMW and TMT components and SQL driven data extracts and database support to align transactional and financial datasets with operational workflows.
Operational integrations explicitly included PeopleNet ELD device deployment and an AOBRD to PeopleNet ELD transition to capture hours of service and vehicle telemetry, with device provisioning, training and post implementation support. Internal teams coordinated directly with Trimble support staff to prioritize functionality enhancements and to instrument ELD data into dispatch, payroll and compliance processes across departments.
Governance and rollout emphasized cross department process improvement sessions, formal training programs, and sustained post go live support to embed new workflows and sustain operational changes. The project manager applied trucking domain expertise, SQL capabilities and project management discipline to coordinate configuration, testing, training and ongoing TMW Systems TMW TMT support, ensuring identified efficiency improvements were implemented and internal staff trained.
