IFS Legacy IFS ERP ERP Financial ERP n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, Vantaan Energia implemented IFS ERP in an ERP Financial role to support maintenance planning and procurement activities at the Martinlaakso power plant. The deployment was used as the operational system for day to day planning during the plant annual repairs timeframe. Operational use is recorded between May 2021 and September 2021 when a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor Trainee used IFS ERP for preparing and planning maintenance activities and for procurement of spare parts and services. Functional emphasis included procurement workflows, purchase order creation, maintenance work order scheduling, and financial posting managed through IFS ERP modules. The implementation covered the mechanical maintenance department, onsite contractors, and plant stores at the Martinlaakso site, aligning work order orchestration with parts availability and supplier engagement. IFS ERP was used to link maintenance scheduling to inventory records and procurement transactions so parts requisitions and service contracts were recorded in the ERP Financial ledger. Governance focused on role based access for maintenance planners and purchaser roles and approval workflows for spare parts purchases and service contracting configured within IFS ERP. The system served as the primary application for maintenance procurement and planning at the site during the annual repair period.

IFS Legacy IFS Ultimo CMMS Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) ERP Services and Operations n/a 2021 2021
In 2021 Vantaan Energia implemented IFS Ultimo CMMS as its Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) platform to centralize maintenance operations for the 350-employee Finnish utility. The deployment focused on plant and field maintenance workflows supporting energy production and maintenance teams in Vantaa, integrating core maintenance functions with the company document ecosystem. Configuration of IFS Ultimo CMMS emphasized standard CMMS capabilities, including an enterprise asset register, preventive maintenance scheduling, work order management, and spare parts inventory and procurement workflows. The IFS Ultimo CMMS implementation included configuration for mobile field access and linking maintenance records to engineering and compliance documentation. Integrations were explicitly scoped to the Azure data platform and business intelligence tooling, with ETL activities extracting energy production and maintenance data into Power BI models and reports. The CMMS was also integrated with the company document housing system M-Files, with metadata enhancement and mass migrations performed into both M-Files and IFS to align document references and asset records. Governance and process work centered on document and metadata standardization, mass migration execution, and establishing maintenance planning and KPI monitoring workflows, including energy efficiency indicators surfaced in Power BI. Operational ownership rested with maintenance and engineering functions, with the Development Engineer role supporting ETL, reporting, document management in M-Files, and metadata and data migration tasks in IFS Ultimo CMMS.
