| Aderant | Legacy | Aderant Expert | Legal Practice Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2013 | 2013 |
In 2013 Venable implemented Aderant Expert in a Legal Practice Management context to centralize firm accounting and reporting workflows. The deployment was positioned to create a structured reporting layer that addressed finance and practice management reporting needs across the firm.
Venable used the iWay Data Management Console DMC to move and transform data from its Aderant accounting system. The team consolidated eleven main Aderant fact tables into four detailed fact tables, and then derived three aggregate or summary tables organized by period, YTD, and LTD. The Aderant Expert reporting layer consumed those three aggregate tables, which serviced 90 percent of the reports and removed the need for caching data within individual reports.
The implementation tied the Aderant accounting source directly into the Legal Practice Management reporting fabric, enabling finance and practice operations teams to rely on precomputed aggregates for routine reporting. The architecture reduced report-level data transformations, shifting transformation responsibility into the DMC and the consolidated fact tables.
Governance shifted toward centralized data transformation and table design, with reporting development focusing on the three aggregate tables instead of bespoke caching strategies. The change streamlined report maintenance and standardized period based, year to date, and life to date reporting patterns within Aderant Expert.

| Corridor Company | Legacy | Corridor Contract Management | Contract Lifecycle Management | Content Management | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Venable implemented Corridor Contract Management as its Contract Lifecycle Management platform. The deployment was scoped to support the firm’s corporate legal team, contract administration functions, procurement touchpoints, and practice groups within a 900 person professional services firm operating in the United States.
Corridor Contract Management was configured to deliver core CLM capabilities including contract authoring and template libraries, clause and playbook governance, centralized contract repository with full-text search, version control and redlining, automated approval routing, obligation and milestone tracking, and reporting for contract lifecycle stages. The implementation emphasized document control, electronic signature readiness, and role based access to align legal drafting and commercial negotiation workflows.
Operational workflows were built to connect legal review, procurement intake, outside counsel engagement protocols, and contract closeout procedures, with Corridor Contract Management orchestrating approvals and escalation paths. The solution supported matter tagging and metadata enrichment to enable contract classification and lifecycle status reporting across practice areas.
Governance centered on centralized template management, standardized approval matrices, audit trails for compliance, and phased rollouts by practice group to manage change. Training and documented workflows were used to establish consistent contract intake, review, and execution processes under the Corridor Contract Management implementation.
