| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2010 | 2011 |
In 2010, Veolia UK implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as part of the Agora programme, a large scale greenfield finance transformation. The deployment focused on ERP Financial business functions, centralizing General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, HR/Payroll and secure banking payment processing such as BACS across the UK estate.
SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was configured to deliver core financial and human capital workflows, with explicit Master Data Management activities for source identification, data collection, normalisation, correction and consolidation. Functional scope included GL, AP, AR, SRM procurement capabilities, HR payroll interfaces, and BI and reporting enabled by SAP BW and BI modules documented in the programme portfolio of 20 products.
The architecture created a new integration layer between UK technologies and French SAP components, using .NET, SharePoint, BizTalk, CFT and virtualised UK infrastructure on the front end, linked to SAP technologies in France. Integration work supported post-acquisition systems consolidation across the UK, France, other European countries and the US, and included secure banking interfaces for payments and non-functional requirements across Head Office and 40 Veolia UK offices.
Programme governance introduced Agile Scrum practices with the Programme Delivery Lead acting as Scrum Coach and using Target Process for sprint and backlog management, alongside established project controls. The programme managed 50 UK staff, a minimum of eight UK senior project managers, three software development leads, testing, infrastructure, support and business analyst teams, plus at least 200 offshoring staff in France, and coordinated consultancies including IBM, ROC, BearingPoint, Quest and Basware while running action and risk registers, status reporting, and senior steering reviews with the UK CIO and CFO.
Operational deliverables included decommissioning, transition and consolidation plans to retire approximately 200 source systems, disaster recovery and business continuity planning, system monitoring and performance management. The programme was delivered on time and to budget, while introducing best practices such as integration testing, non-functional testing, change control and structured cutover and UAT processes.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP HCM (HR) | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2010 | 2011 |
In 2010, Veolia UK implemented SAP HCM (HR) as part of the Agora global ERP greenfield programme, delivering a Core HR capability alongside HR payroll and employment master data processes. The SAP HCM (HR) deployment was executed within a larger portfolio that consolidated HR/Payroll, finance and procurement functions, positioning Core HR as the authoritative personnel and payroll record set for UK operations and cross-border integration points.
The implementation configured SAP HCM (HR) modules to support HR and payroll processing, and established Master Data Management workflows for source identification, data collection, normalization, correction and consolidation. Functional workstreams included data migration, user acceptance testing, training and cutover planning, and the programme directed detailed decommission, transition and consolidated plans to move 200 legacy systems into the new enterprise architecture.
Architecturally, the UK delivery created a new integration layer between a .NET, SharePoint and BizTalk based UK stack and SAP technologies running in the France stream, including BW, SIM, BI, ECC, MDM and SRM components. The UK environment was built as a greenfield virtualized server estate with explicit non-functional requirements enforced between Head Office, 40 Veolia UK offices and European sites, and integrations extended across the UK, France, other European countries and the United States.
Programme governance combined Agile Scrum practices with traditional programme controls, the UK Programme Delivery Lead acted as Scrum Coach and introduced Target Process for sprint management while maintaining action and risk registers, steering committee reporting and financial controls over a 2 million pound budget. Delivery management included direct oversight of a 50 person UK team, coordination with at least 200 offshoring staff in France, and management of consultancies including IBM, ROC, BearingPoint, Quest and Basware, and the programme was reported delivered on time and to budget.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP BW (Business Warehouse) | Data Warehouse | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2010 | 2011 |
In 2010, Veolia UK implemented SAP BW (Business Warehouse) as the Data Warehouse platform within the Agora programme, a greenfield global finance ERP transformation. The Data Warehouse deployment supported consolidation of General Ledger covering £6 billion, Accounts Payable and Receivable, HR and payroll, secure banking payments such as BACS, and procurement functions across the UK, France, other European countries and the United States.
The technical landscape combined SAP BW with SAP SIM, BI, ECC, MDM, SRM and HR modules, alongside .NET, BizTalk and SharePoint components to deliver centralized reporting, analytics and master data management capabilities. SAP BW (Business Warehouse) was configured to centralize consolidated reporting and Master Data Management processes, including source identification, data collection, normalization, correction and consolidation, and to feed downstream finance and procurement reporting.
Implementation created a new architecture between the UK and France, using .NET, SharePoint, BizTalk and CFT on the UK side and SAP technologies in France, and included a greenfield virtualized server infrastructure to satisfy non-functional requirements across Head Office, 40 Veolia UK offices and European sites. Integration work explicitly covered post-acquisition systems integration and orchestration across multiple countries, with dedicated streams for data migration, user acceptance testing, cutover, disaster recovery and business continuity.
Programme governance placed the UK Programme Delivery Lead managing approximately 50 onshore staff and at least 200 offshoring staff based in France, supported by senior project managers, BI development, testing, infrastructure and business analyst teams, and consultancies including IBM, ROC, BearingPoint, Quest and Basware. Agile Scrum practices were introduced with Scrum coaching and Target Process for sprint management, the programme controlled a £2 million budget, produced decommission and transition plans to move about 200 legacy systems to the new enterprise architecture, and was delivered on time and to budget.
