In 2010 Vitalité Health Network kicked off the Regional Kronos Workforce Project, selecting UKG Workforce Central Timekeeper (ex Kronos Workforce Timekeeper) to address regional scheduling and time capture needs. The initiative targeted a unified Time and Attendance environment to simplify employee scheduling, standardize time tracking and provide centralized reporting across the regional health authority, with progressive implementation across sites.
UKG Workforce Central Timekeeper was configured to deliver core Time and Attendance capabilities, including electronic timecard transmission, centralized schedule administration, attendance management and regional reporting from a common database. The deployment emphasized timecard administration and standardized workforce scheduling, and provisioned a self service work schedule for employees to view real time rosters and shift assignments.
Operational integrations were built to support ongoing operations, with FacilicorpNB resources collaborating with the regional health authority to define infrastructure requirements, install components, build and provide Meditech reports for system maintenance and assist in interface construction and back up maintenance. The solution enabled regional directors to manage employee timecards from any location, and the technical scope included coordination between HR, payroll, finance, education, staffing and IT.
Governance for the rollout was organized through a regional project team composed of representatives from HR, payroll, finance, education, staffing and IT, driving standardized schedules, time and attendance policies and reporting workflows. The expected outcomes articulated by the program included a common tool for electronic timecards, standardized management of schedules and time and attendance, and the ability to produce regional reports from the shared UKG Workforce Central Timekeeper database while providing employees with a real time self service schedule.
