| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2022 | 2023 |
In 2022, Warner Music Group implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform. The implementation was anchored in the companys Center of Excellence for Shared Services, supporting U.S. record labels, publishing, and artist and label services, with configuration to support the Participations group in Nashville and remote finance staff in Tennessee.
SAP S/4 HANA was configured to provide core financial accounting capabilities including general ledger, accounts payable, revenue and receivables workflows, vendor master data management, and period close orchestration. Functional configuration aligned to participation accounting and statement production requirements, including participation profit share and distribution statements, accruals and true ups, balance sheet transfers and reclasses, recoupments, participation and P and D and merchandise liabilities, journal entry processing, and support for cash forecasting and reconciliations.
The deployment included explicit integration points with SAP Analysis for Office, BI, and SharePoint to support financial reporting, statement distribution, and document management as reflected in technical role requirements. Operational coverage spans financial, legal, and administrative business functions across Warner Music Group United States operations, with the Participations team and Shared Services Nashville center serving as primary operational owners and stakeholders up to senior executives.
Governance was structured around department financial controls, defined service levels and KPIs, and standardized close and reconciliation workflows to ensure contractual and accounting compliance for artist and label participations. Process transformation efforts emphasized centralized vendor master maintenance, standardized statement production and escalation protocols, and a continuous improvement cadence to refine participations accounting and operational procedures.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2018 | 2020 |
In 2018, Warner Music Group implemented Workday Absence Management within its Absence and Leave Management environment. The deployment was managed by the central HRIS team that supports the global Workday system across 40+ territories, establishing Workday Absence Management as the corporate leave and time-off control point.
Workday Absence Management was configured alongside core Workday modules including HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, Learning, Reporting and Payroll to enable centralized time off workflows, entitlement calculations, leave request approval chains, and absence reporting. Configuration and feature delivery were executed as part of the twice yearly Workday update cadence, with HRIS staff responsible for implementing release changes and maintaining calculated fields and reports.
Integrations used Workday-native integration approaches and EIB processes to synchronize absence records with payroll and global reporting, and to support bulk employee onboarding and adjustments during business acquisition activity. Operational coverage spanned HR stakeholders such as Compensation and Benefits, Recruitment, Learning and HR generalists, with named HRIS subject matter experts serving as point of contact for HCM, absence and compensation related issues.
Governance was formalized within the global HRIS support model, including change control for configuration updates, remediation of business process issues, and ongoing data integrity checks to support consolidated reporting. The Workday Absence Management implementation was coordinated with wider HR initiatives including the UK Workday Payroll implementation and the rollout of a new talent framework.

| Broadcom | Legacy | AppWorx Workload Automation | Business Process Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016 Warner Music Group deployed AppWorx Workload Automation to orchestrate scheduling and monitoring for its B2B web application that handles physical product sales to retailers, wholesalers, and internal employees. The implementation positioned AppWorx Workload Automation within a Business Process Management framework to centralize job scheduling, runbook orchestration, and automated execution of ETL and integration workflows supporting the B2B storefront.
The technical implementation focused on workload automation of Java based components and batch data flows, using AppWorx Workload Automation alongside Crontab for legacy cron tasks. Core capabilities implemented included scheduled job orchestration, monitoring and alerting, and coordination of data loads using Oracle external tables, control files, materialized views, PL/SQL procedures and bulk collections to move XML interface data into the Oracle 10g schema.
Integrations were explicit and application centric, with AppWorx coordinating jobs that fed product and order processes into Amazon Market Web Services and Magento API integrations for WMG catalog listing. The runtime environment included Java 1.6, JSP, Spring 4.1, Hibernate 3, Apache Tomcat on UNIX, and use of XML and JSON interfaces, while a proof of concept examined migration of the B2B web application to AWS.
Governance and operational practices emphasized 18/5 production support from the Warner Music Group technical team, agile development and scrum cadence for releases, and functional and technical design artifacts created in MS Visio. Development and operations patterns documented included DAO and DAO Factory patterns for data access, SQL performance tuning with Explain Plan and optimizer hints, and ticketed monitoring workflows using ServiceNow tied to AppWorx alerts.
The project included hands on scheduling and monitoring configuration in AppWorx Workload Automation and participating in an AWS migration POC for the B2B application, while retaining explicit operational controls for data loads, API integrations and 18/5 support coverage.
