In 2020 Washington County, TX deployed Motorola CommandCentral Suite for Emergency Management to modernize 9-1-1 operations across its Public Safety Answering Point and as a member jurisdiction of the Brazos Valley Council of Governments. The deployment implemented cloud-hosted CommandCentral 9-1-1 Smart Transcription and CommandCentral 9-1-1 Citizen Input as core components of the Motorola CommandCentral Suite, addressing first responder and call taker needs during the COVID-19 period of increased demand for cloud software.
The implementation configured CommandCentral 9-1-1 Smart Transcription to provide real-time voice to text transcription and searchable text transcripts, giving call takers a secondary record to confirm call details as incidents unfold. CommandCentral 9-1-1 Citizen Input was configured to accept caller-submitted photographs, recorded video and live streaming with permission-based controls, enabling the PSAP to ingest multimedia for situational awareness while limiting exposure of sensitive media to call takers.
Operationally the cloud deployment targeted the 9-1-1 call taking and dispatch workflow, improving information flow between call takers and dispatchers within Washington County and the Brazos Valley Council of Governments ecosystem. The Motorola CommandCentral Suite is positioned to unify call data and streamline workflows from call to case closure, and the broader suite includes complementary components such as PremierOne Cloud CAD as part of the same CommandCentral software portfolio.
Governance and rollout emphasized permissioned media access and cloud resilience, reflecting Motorola Solutions messaging of delivering secure and scalable cloud services. The Washington County deployments were reported as two of several Motorola cloud-based public safety software rollouts in the second quarter of 2020, delivering real-time transcription and controlled citizen media intake to enhance situational awareness for Emergency Management operations.
