Hitachi Legacy Hitachi Ellipse EAM Payroll Payroll HCM ABB 2010 2010
In 2010, Western Power extended and upgraded its Mincom Ellipse deployment to Ellipse 6.3 and expanded mobile access for field crews. The broader Ellipse installation included HR and payroll capabilities and is represented here as Hitachi Ellipse EAM Payroll, within the Payroll apps category. The technical upgrade delivered Ellipse 6.3 with Mincom Mobility to provide real-time asset and work information to roughly 1,600 field staff. Functional modules implemented included field work management, asset records and tracking, workforce scheduling, and the Ellipse HR and payroll capability set configured to support payroll-related workforce data and job costing. The implementation integrated server-side Ellipse EAM with mobile client devices via Mincom Mobility, enabling synchronous updates of work orders and asset status in the field. ABB served as the system integrator supporting configuration, staging and rollout activities across Western Power operations in Western Australia. Governance and process changes emphasized operational workflows for scheduling and field task dispatch, and alignment of payroll-related workforce capture with field time and work order records. The announced outcome from the 2010 upgrade was improved field efficiency and scheduling through real-time access to work and asset information.
