In 2023, Wood County Clerk of Courts implemented Equivant CourtView. Equivant CourtView is a Case Management application deployed to support the Clerk of Courts Legal Division, serving the Wood County Court of Common Pleas General Division and interfacing with matters that proceed to the Sixth District Court of Appeals.
The implementation emphasized core case management modules, including case intake and e-filing intake workflows, docketing and party management, document indexing and retrieval, fee and payment processing, public records request handling, and specific workflows to support passport agent processing. Configuration prioritized data entry efficiency consistent with local staffing skills, accurate indexing to meet Ohio Revised Code and local court rules, and role-based access for deputy clerks working at courthouse intake counters and back-office functions.
Equivant CourtView was configured to operate alongside the OnBase Document Imaging System and the Court File Now E-Filing System, and to coexist with existing office applications including USPS/Neopost software, Ohio Attorney General applications, Word, Excel, Outlook, B.C.I. interfaces, credit card processing and micro-film software. Governance and rollout included staff training and webinars, maintenance of document retention and certification requirements for passport agents, adherence to Ohio Revised Code and local court procedures, and operational controls for indexing accuracy, payment handling and public records fulfillment.
