In 2017, WSFS Bank implemented Oracle Cloud ERP to centralize financial management and address timing, data quality, and integration issues that had arisen during rapid growth through acquisition. The ERP Financial deployment was driven by a corporate objective to double in size and the need for real-time, accurate financial information for decision making.
The implementation concentrated on core financial management capabilities within Oracle Cloud ERP, including general ledger consolidation, accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, close automation, and real-time financial reporting. Configuration emphasized process standardization and automation to replace manual and spreadsheet-driven workflows, creating consistent transactional and ledger flows across the finance function.
Operationally, the project targeted consolidation of disparate financial data sources and improved data integration across WSFS business units, with a WSFS internal team working side by side with implementation partner Grant Thornton to reduce external resourcing costs and accelerate knowledge transfer. This collaborative approach was designed to drive end user adoption while preserving institutional knowledge within the bank.
CFO Dominic C. Canuso managed governance and cost discipline during the rollout, keeping implementation costs to a minimum without sacrificing project success. WSFS expects a US$12M ROI from streamlining processes, optimizing resources, and the ability to make better decisions from real-time, accurate data, with Oracle Cloud ERP positioned as the single financial system of record for the bank.
