In 2020, Ymere implemented AFAS Absence and Leave as its Absence and Leave Management application. The deployment positioned AFAS Absence and Leave at the center of personnel administration and absence administration workstreams, with the application used to record absences, process HR changes, and support day to day absence case management for HR staff.
Implementation activities focused on configuring the AFAS absence module and optimizing absence process flows, including setup of leave categories, approval routing and absence recording consistent with Dutch HR practices. Functional responsibilities during and after the rollout included processing HR changes in AFAS, conducting employment conditions discussions, and answering HR related questions by email and telephone.
The AFAS Absence and Leave implementation operated alongside Ymere's HR intranet on SharePoint and the Appical onboarding app, with HR teams posting news and managing intranet content on SharePoint and coordinating onboarding improvements with Appical. These integrations reflect the operational linkage between absence administration, employee communications, and onboarding workflows.
Operational scope covered HR teams, managers and employees within Ymere's Amsterdam HR operations, with governance centered on embedding absence workflows into personnel administration processes and continuous optimization of HR processes and the onboarding experience. Ongoing activities included absence administration, intranet management, and iterative refinement of the absence module configuration and related HR procedures.
