In 2013, Zelis implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP to establish an ERP Financial system across its corporate finance organization. The implementation targeted Zelis in the United States and aligned to its professional services operating model with approximately 2,500 employees.
Microsoft Dynamics GP, also referenced as Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains in historical reporting, was configured to support core ERP Financial modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, bank reconciliation, and financial reporting. The project leveraged Great Plains history and native reporting queries to migrate and validate financial balances and transaction history and to preserve audit trails for ongoing accounting operations.
Operational coverage concentrated on central finance, accounting operations, revenue accounting workflows, and treasury functions, consolidating transactional finance activity under a single ERP Financial application. Implementation work included chart of accounts standardization, period close orchestration, role based security, and the setup of approval workflows to support month end close discipline.
Governance emphasized configuration control and the use of Microsoft Dynamics GP historical reports and queries for reconciliations, audits, and regulatory recordkeeping. Ongoing reliance on Great Plains history informed iterative reporting and query driven research across finance teams.

| HealthEdge Software | Legacy | HealthRules Payer | Core Admin Processing System | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019 Zelis implemented HealthRules Payer as a web based Core Admin Processing System to support payer scale Medicare processing workflows. The deployment centered on HealthRules Payer with Medicare Gateway as the key component providing real time access to the CMS Marx database, enabling eligibility verification, enrollment, membership management, and payment reconciliation through online interfaces.
The HealthRules Payer implementation covered configuration and module workstreams for billing origination to billing processing, claims adjudication including validation of EDI 837 claim types and EDI 835 remittance advice flows, utilization management, case management, and disease management. Work included configuration assessment for payer deployments, creation of System Requirements Documents with functional and non functional requirements, and application level changes to the claims reimbursement user interface.
Integrations were scoped and implemented with CMS Marx database connectivity and EDI pipelines for 837 and 835 transactions, reporting integration with the data warehouse and ETL teams for Cognos reporting, and operational ties into mainframe reporting databases queried via SQL. Project artifacts and project data were centralized on an MS SharePoint site, and security database transitions were coordinated to maintain HIPAA compliance across finance, claims, and provider payment functions.
Governance and delivery followed agile product practices with Epics, Features and User Stories created in JIRA and a managed sprint backlog, coupled with BPMN 2.0 driven business process models for current state and future state workflows. The team developed test plans and manual test cases, executed user acceptance testing and total claim audits to validate configuration and provider payments, tracked vendor and payer resolutions, and maintained weekly requirements status reports for PMO reporting to CMS.
Operational coverage for the deployment included claims operations, finance and accounts receivable, utilization and case management teams, and interactions with account managers and independent advisors to capture requirements. Documentation deliverables comprised SRDs, process models, end user training materials and operational documentation, and EDI companion guide reviews were performed to ensure compliance and edit integrity.
