Banco Republica Uruguay | Banking and Financial Services | 1807 | $900M | Uruguay | Bantotal | Bantotal Core | Core Banking | 2013 | Ibm |
In 2013 Banco Republica Uruguay awarded a contract to IBM to procure Bantotal Core as a national core modernization covering retail, payments and electronic banking operations in Uruguay, implementing a Core Banking platform. IBM was designated as the systems integrator and the Bantotal Core based platform entered production around 2017.
Bantotal Core was implemented to provide core ledger processing, deposit and loan lifecycle management, payments processing and electronic channels functionality consistent with Core Banking operational scope. Public reporting supports additional module usage for cards and payments and expanded electronic channels, which aligns with standard Core Banking module deployment patterns.
IBM acted as systems integrator across implementation, testing and deployment activities for the Bantotal Core program. The implementation had national operational coverage, supporting retail banking branches, payment operations and e banking services across Uruguay.
The program followed a multiyear rollout from the 2013 contract award to production around 2017, with a phased rollout across modules and channels and program governance led by Banco Republica together with IBM as systems integrator. Operationalization emphasized centralized program management, staged module cutovers and channel enablement to bring Bantotal Core into steady state production.

Banco Supervielle | Banking and Financial Services | 3041 | $1.0B | Argentina | Bantotal | Bantotal Core | Core Banking | 2022 | n/a |
In 2022, Banco Supervielle commissioned a refactorization of its Bantotal implementation to modernize core architecture and improve agility for finance and digital channels in Argentina. The bank implemented Bantotal Core, a Core Banking application, as the focal platform for that refactorization, and Bantotal public materials from October 2022 describe the effort as an integral refactorization project focused on architecture and channel readiness.
The refactorization emphasized modernization of the core architecture with a move toward modular, service-oriented patterns and API-first connectivity to support digital channel orchestration and finance operations. Configuration-driven product management and separation of transaction processing from channel logic were focal technical approaches described, consistent with Core Banking functional needs for product configurability, transaction integrity, and channel integration.
Operationally the program centered on Banco Supervielle's finance and digital channel functions across its Argentina footprint, positioning Bantotal Core as the central transaction and product management engine. Public project materials frame the initiative as a programmatic restructuring of core system architecture and release cadence to improve agility for product delivery and channel evolution, with implementation activities organized around architecture refactorization, module reconfiguration, and tighter alignment between core operations and digital channels.
