Air Resource Specialists | Professional Services | 50 | $10M | United States | Dbvisit Software | Dbvisit Standby MultiPlatform | Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) | 2017 | n/a |
In 2017, Air Resource Specialists deployed Dbvisit Standby MultiPlatform to create an on premises to cloud standby for Oracle Standard Edition. The implementation provided Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) capability for its scientific services and data analytics environment, delivering continuous replication and a standby target outside the primary datacenter.
The hybrid DR implementation using Dbvisit Standby MultiPlatform was completed in two weeks and required about 12 hours of DBA effort for initial configuration and cutover validation. The solution was configured to maintain near real time data synchronization, achieving an RTO of about 15 minutes and near zero data loss.
Operationally the standby was used successfully in a hardware failure recovery, validating failover procedures in production. Initial deployment and ongoing operational activity centered on DBA teams for monitoring and failover execution, keeping governance focused on database operations and continuity for analytics workloads.

ICON | Healthcare | 41150 | $8.1B | Ireland | Dbvisit Software | Dbvisit Standby MultiPlatform | Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) | 2014 | n/a |
In 2014, ICON implemented Dbvisit Standby MultiPlatform as part of a Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) program to formalize database high availability and recovery processes. The work was executed in close collaboration with internal technical support teams and the ICON DBA organization to design, develop, implement, and support formal database disaster recovery plans.
Implementation focused on active standby replication and failover orchestration, and included integration of Active DATAGUARD for Oracle workloads to provide standby instances for high availability and disaster recovery. Dbvisit Standby MultiPlatform was configured to manage continuous replication and orchestrated failover procedures while being operated under 24x7 production database administration, support, and monitoring to enable proactive problem recognition and resolution.
Operational capabilities implemented included backup and recovery using RMAN, hot and cold backup workflows coordinated with Netapp SnapCenter and Actifio, and cloning of production databases into test and development environments. The team upgraded Oracle Enterprise Manager to 13c to monitor 100+ databases, and the DBA team integrated and organized MySQL and MongoDB databases into the ICON PLC domain to extend DRaaS coverage across heterogeneous systems.
Governance changes emphasized DBA-led operational ownership, continuous monitoring, and collaboration with the Security team to secure all database management systems and their processes. The deployment centralized Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) controls for ICONs production, test, and development environments, embedding structured standby operations and cloning procedures into ongoing database governance.
