Arbor Realty Trust Banking and Financial Services 630 $619M United States Docsumo Docsumo Intelligent Document Processing 2020 n/a
In 2020, Arbor Realty Trust deployed Docsumo to automate extraction and validation of insurance documentation for its commercial real estate lending operations. The engagement used Docsumo as an Intelligent Document Processing platform to process Acord forms, elevation certificates and insurance claim and application documents supporting loan origination and servicing, underwriting and risk assessment across Arbor’s U.S. portfolio. The implementation centered on an API based ingestion layer that accepted Acord 25, Acord 28 and elevation certificate files in common file formats. An inbuilt preprocessor normalized JPG, PDF and PNG inputs, then Docsumo’s OCR module applied vectorized position references to extract fields and table data across varying fonts and layouts. An NLP based classification framework categorized key value pairs and line items, while a rule based validation engine applied contextual checks and corrections prior to export. Extracted records were emitted in JSON and pushed into downstream databases and analytics pipelines via direct APIs, enabling integration with Arbor’s existing data stores and reporting systems. Operational coverage included insurance claim settlement and application document streams where a team of agents previously handled manual entry, with the system reconfiguring operator workflows so employees perform exception review rather than end to end data capture. Governance moved toward exception based review and automated validation rules, reducing manual double entry and centralizing data quality controls. Outcomes reported in the case study include a greater than 95% straight through processing rate, 99% plus data extraction accuracy and approximately 10x faster processing of unstructured documents, with extracted data flowing directly into Arbor’s database for downstream analysis.
Biagi Bros Transportation 600 $150M United States Docsumo Docsumo Intelligent Document Processing 2021 n/a
In 2021, Biagi Bros implemented Docsumo, an Intelligent Document Processing application, to automate bill of lading ingestion and data extraction across its 3PL distribution centers, warehouses, and truck terminals. The deployment targeted high volume inbound document flows, processing more than 3,000 documents per month and supporting over 1,500 deliveries per month, and was scoped to eliminate double manual entry and accelerate barcode and Advanced Shipment Notification generation. Docsumo was configured with API based ingestion to capture JPG, PDF, and PNG bill of lading files, and pre processors queued documents for extraction. The implementation used Docsumo OCR with vectorized position referencing to parse unstructured text and tabular data, while an NLP based classification framework categorized key value pairs and line items. A rule based validation engine applied contextual checks and correction logic in real time to improve data quality before downstream handoffs. Extracted data was emitted in JSON format for integration with downstream systems, specifically DellBoomi and Highjump, enabling programmatic generation of barcodes and Advanced Shipment Notifications. Operational workflow changed so that employees reviewed only exceptions, with the platform handling classification across 10 plus bill of lading formats and the daily capture of more than 50 inbound leads. Docsumo maintained 95 percent plus straight through processing and achieved 99 percent plus extraction accuracy as part of the live configuration. Governance and process changes centered on exception management and rule governance, with business process owners authoring validation rules and exception queues routed to designated reviewers. Outcomes reported by Biagi Bros include saving more than 500 hours of processing time per month and reducing manual errors drastically, with documented monthly processing cost savings in excess of ten thousand dollars and a greater than 70 percent reduction in processing cost through end to end automation.
