Carlton & United Breweries | Consumer Packaged Goods | 1700 | $650M | Australia | EmployeeConnect | EmployeeConnect | Core HR | 2018 | n/a |
In 2018 Carlton & United Breweries deployed EmployeeConnect as its Core HR platform for the companys craft business portfolio. The program team developed, designed, built and deployed a HRIS solution to be used across CUB craft businesses including 4Pines and Pirate Life, executing the delivery using Agile methodology and a staffed program including a Project Delivery Manager, Senior Business Analyst and Implementation Consultant.
The EmployeeConnect implementation was built and customized to CUB requirements, with configuration of business and organisation structure to support SAP position management. The scope included core HR capabilities for employee records, organisational hierarchies and manager and HR user workflows, with system configuration explicitly designed to be adaptable across multiple craft business units.
Integration work linked EmployeeConnect into the wider CUB landscape, with explicit integrations to SAP, ADP, Deputy and Xero. The delivery mapped system fields between SAP Global and EmployeeConnect, defined and enforced mandatory integration fields, and produced integration documentation for external vendors, ensuring field level compatibility and end to end data flow between systems.
Governance and operational readiness were addressed through a comprehensive testing strategy that included system testing, user acceptance testing and performance testing. The program developed and authored all end user training materials for HR users, managers and staff, gathered cross functional requirements across global, local and craft stakeholders, maintained a governance framework for global system integrity and provided regular progress reporting to steering committees.
A playbook was developed for future craft beer acquisitions to standardise EmployeeConnect rollout for newly acquired brands, capturing configuration patterns, integration templates and testing protocols. EmployeeConnect remains documented as the Core HR application for CUB craft businesses, with the playbook and integration artefacts intended to accelerate subsequent acquisitions and standardise HR operations across the craft portfolio.
