In 2016, PICHLER projects implemented LogiKal to extend its Computer-Aided Design (CAD) environment within the companys steel structures and facade engineering practice. The LogiKal deployment was supplied by Forterro and provisioned to support detailed facade and structural envelope workflows used by the engineering department.
LogiKal was configured to provide core CAD capabilities typical for facade and steel engineering, including parametric profile and curtain wall modeling, generation of shop and assembly drawings, parts lists and production output suitable for downstream fabrication. The implementation emphasized precision in component definition, support for static and structural calculation inputs, and the creation of production-ready documentation to feed in-house manufacturing and external suppliers.
The application is used alongside SolidWorks, Athena, and Tekla Structures to coordinate engineering deliverables with architects, client representatives, contractors, civil engineers, designers, and external manufacturers. LogiKal supports BIM-aligned workflows within the Tekla Structures driven 3D environment, enabling models that contain reliable production and assembly information to be shared across disciplines.
