Georgsmarienhuette Manufacturing 1353 $468M Germany PSI Software AG PSImetals Manufacturing ERP 2025 n/a In 2025, Georgsmarienhütte GmbH implemented PSImetals Demand and Sales Planning, deploying the Demand Manager and Sales and Operations Planning modules as part of a Manufacturing ERP initiative at its steel plant. The PSImetals Demand and Sales Planning deployment centralized demand planning and S&OP workflows to support end to end production planning across the company supply chain and production units. The solution is built on the PSImetals Service Platform and uses a modern service oriented architecture with real time integration to SAP via standardized interfaces, enabling rapid exchange of order and capacity information. Sales order entry can now return accurate due date confirmations within few minutes assuming there is sufficient capacity, reflecting tighter coupling between sales order management and capacity planning. The deployment supports alignment of rolling and annealing lines with production orders to improve fulfillment of customer demand. A scenario based S&OP process was configured to allow GMH to evaluate and compare multiple forecast and planning scenarios against KPIs and strategic planning targets, creating a clear transition into detailed operational scheduling. Functional modules implemented include Demand Manager and Sales and Operations Planning, which together enable KPI driven decision making across planning levels. The system supports production mix optimization by aligning line capabilities and production orders through scenario comparison and planning orchestration. Operational scope covers supply chain management and production planning at the steel plant and extends across the company supply chain, affecting sales order confirmation, production scheduling and supply chain coordination. Georgsmarienhütte describes the PSImetals implementation as providing a scalable agile and future proof planning environment and a robust foundation for long term production optimization.
Huttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann Manufacturing 3185 $800M Germany PSI Software AG PSImetals Manufacturing ERP 2024 n/a In 2024 Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann implemented PSImetals as part of a staged Manufacturing ERP program, completing the first of seven planned go lives in December 2024. The deployment is explicitly scoped to Planning, Production, and Quality capabilities and is recorded as progressing on time within budget while covering the planned scope. The implementation includes PSImetals Demand and Order Planning and Caster Sequencing modules, with PSImetals also configured to act as the central hub for sampling and scheduling. PSImetals Virtual Factory simulations were used to validate requirements and preview operational scenarios using steel plant data aligned with HKM operations, while fit gap analysis defined necessary structures and standardized configurations. The PSImetals solution is integrated with SAP and HKM’s Finishing Line Tracking System to consolidate production scheduling, sampling, and order execution into a single operational platform. This integration enables supply chain and quality managers to manage operations through an integrated Manufacturing ERP platform, allowing quick schedule adjustments and coordinated execution of production plans. Project governance was run by a joint project team of Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann and PSI Software AG experts using an agile approach and a phased release strategy. Wherever possible go lives ran in parallel with existing systems to enable comprehensive testing and validation before each stage became operational, and the Virtual Factory simulations supported iterative validation during the rollout. The outcome recorded in the initial phase is a successful first go live of PSImetals with the program continuing through six additional planned go lives, demonstrating a structured program approach to extend the Manufacturing ERP footprint across HKM operations.
SSAB Manufacturing 14486 $11.4B Sweden PSI Software AG PSImetals Manufacturing ERP 2024 n/a In 2024, SSAB commissioned PSI Software AG to implement PSImetals as its Manufacturing ERP for the digital renewal of its production management landscape. The initial deployment targets the Luleå site, with the program structured to have systems and processes ready and tested to support startup of the integrated mini-mill and cold rolling complex at the end of 2028. The PSImetals implementation will include PSImetals Planning, Scheduling, Production Execution Solid and Liquid, Quality, and Logistics. Configurations are being developed as a digital template that codifies best practice processes to cover steelmaking workflows from scrap supply through finished goods, enabling standardized functional modules for reuse across SSAB sites. Architecturally the project specifies modern and standardized Level-2 and Level-4 integration to enable automated and integrated process flows between plant control systems and enterprise layers. PSI positions PSImetals to operate on-premises or in the cloud, providing deployment flexibility for MES, process control, and enterprise orchestration, and the software suite is explicitly scoped to support production management, predictive quality control, and logistics orchestration within the new mill. Governance is centered on a template approach and standardized processes, with testable process definitions and reuse as core requirements to harmonize SSABs production management landscape. The implementation will impact production platform teams, fossil-free business platforms, quality, operations and logistics functions as those groups transition to automated, data driven workflows. The program is staged to align with the Luleå startup timetable and to produce a repeatable PSImetals template for broader rollout within SSAB.
