Fossil India Retail 1200 $100M India SAP SAP Point of Sale Point Of Sale 2018 n/a
In 2018 Fossil India implemented SAP Point of Sale to standardize store transaction processing and support its retail and supply chain execution functions. The deployment targeted Point Of Sale workflows across Fossil India retail stores and the Supply Chain Execution organization based in Bengaluru, aligning store-level sales, returns, and pricing with central retail operations. SAP Point of Sale was configured to deliver core POS capabilities including transactional processing, receipt and tender handling, price and promotion management, and store inventory synchronization. The implementation leveraged SAP POSDM for centralized point of sale data management and was tuned for apparel and footwear retail scenarios consistent with SAP AFS and IS-Retail functional expectations. Integrations were designed to operate across multiple SAP environments, with explicit connections into SAP AFS, IS-Retail, ECC components, POSDM, and BW for analytics. The program also incorporated integration patterns to external commerce and order systems including CRM and IBM Sterling OMS, as well as logistics touchpoints to 3PL providers and external WMS, using SAP NetWeaver Gateway and enterprise integration services where required to support transaction replication and inventory reconciliation. Governance was driven by a Technology Center of Excellence model, with formal quality control procedures, technical review and signoff processes involving CoE and Solution Managers. Non-functional requirements and technical integrity were addressed through architecture reviews, ABAP troubleshooting and incident response practices to ensure service restoration and ongoing operational support for retail point of sale and supply chain workflows.

SAP Point of Sale integrated transaction and inventory flows into SAP CAR and SAP S/4 to support transactional finance workflows, goods movement, return management, and distribution center inventory management. Supply chain planning elements included demand planning and sales and operations planning linked to store and distribution center execution, with POS transaction streams feeding replenishment and stock adjustment workflows. Governance was structured around a target operating model and end state advisory for a green field implementation, with a Transition Program Manager overseeing planning and rollout sequencing during 2019. Process restructuring emphasized category management workflows, range and space management, and consolidated product and master data governance to align store operations, merchandising, procurement, warehouses, and finance. The broader program included Project ROSALIND which implemented SAP C4C and SAP Marketing Cloud capabilities to enable global campaign execution and customer data transfer into SAP Customer Data Cloud, with ancillary solutions such as CPI and external content and email tooling listed in scope. SAP Point of Sale functioned as the transactional front end feeding customer and sales data into the C4 and S/4 stack to support omnichannel merchandising and financial reporting.
