| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA Finance | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2018 | 2019 |
In 2018, The Body Shop implemented SAP S/4 HANA Finance as its ERP Financial platform. The Body Shop deployed SAP S/4 HANA Finance to centralize core finance capabilities, aligning the ERP Financial system with corporate accounting and statutory reporting requirements.
The implementation concentrated on standard financial modules, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, and financial close orchestration. SAP S/4 HANA Finance was configured to leverage the simplified data model and in-memory HANA database to support real-time posting and finance reporting typical of ERP Financial deployments.
Programme governance was organized under a named S/4HANA Programme Manager role at The Body Shop, which managed project planning, testing cycles, cutover coordination, and finance process standardization. The deployment emphasized finance function adoption, training, and controlled rollout activities to align accounting, treasury, and FP&A workflows with the new SAP S/4 HANA Finance environment.
Operationally the SAP S/4 HANA Finance implementation placed the finance organization at the center of the ERP Financial architecture, enabling consolidated ledger and statutory reporting processes within the enterprise finance footprint. Documentation and programme management practices were used to enforce configuration controls and change governance during the S/4HANA programme.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP Point of Sale | Point Of Sale | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, The Body Shop implemented SAP Point of Sale, categorized as Point Of Sale, as part of a broader SAP S/4 and C/4 green field program. The deployment for SAP Point of Sale was scoped alongside major applications in scope SAP S/4, SAP CAR, POSDM, and EPOS to support omni channel retail operations.
The implementation covered core Point Of Sale capabilities including store sales operations and store stock management, offline EPOS transaction capture with synchronization through POSDM, and integration of sales orders for non store sales. Functional modules configured or planned included category management for promotions and pricing, assortment and range planning, product lifecycle and foundation data, and both direct and indirect procurement purchase order processes.
SAP Point of Sale integrated transaction and inventory flows into SAP CAR and SAP S/4 to support transactional finance workflows, goods movement, return management, and distribution center inventory management. Supply chain planning elements included demand planning and sales and operations planning linked to store and distribution center execution, with POS transaction streams feeding replenishment and stock adjustment workflows.
Governance was structured around a target operating model and end state advisory for a green field implementation, with a Transition Program Manager overseeing planning and rollout sequencing during 2019. Process restructuring emphasized category management workflows, range and space management, and consolidated product and master data governance to align store operations, merchandising, procurement, warehouses, and finance.
The broader program included Project ROSALIND which implemented SAP C4C and SAP Marketing Cloud capabilities to enable global campaign execution and customer data transfer into SAP Customer Data Cloud, with ancillary solutions such as CPI and external content and email tooling listed in scope. SAP Point of Sale functioned as the transactional front end feeding customer and sales data into the C4 and S/4 stack to support omnichannel merchandising and financial reporting.
