City of Lakeland Water Utilities | Utilities | 200 | $20M | United States | TimeClock Plus | TCP Core Time Clock | Time Clock (Hardware) | 2016 | n/a |
In 2016, City of Lakeland Water Utilities implemented TCP Core Time Clock, deploying a Time Clock (Hardware) solution to centralize time and attendance capture for the Water Utilities department in Lakeland, Florida. The deployment paired on-site TCP Core terminals at operational and maintenance sites with centralized server configuration to manage punches, schedules, and timecard exports for approximately 200 employees.
The TCP Core Time Clock was configured and administered by the department Computer Applications Specialist, with responsibilities that included device provisioning, terminal configuration, shift and pay code setup, and assisting a TimeClock Plus upgrade. Implementation activities included integration assurance work coordinated alongside Maximo asset management and UMS billing system upgrade projects, and governance covered ongoing administrator support, data maintenance and alignment of timekeeping workflows with water engineering, operations and maintenance business functions.

Colorado State University | Education | 9517 | $1.4B | United States | TimeClock Plus | TCP Core Time Clock | Time Clock (Hardware) | 2020 | n/a |
In 2020 Colorado State University provisioned the TCP Core Time Clock for campus time capture and terminal-level device management. The TCP Core Time Clock is implemented as a Time Clock (Hardware) endpoint and was configured according to institutional device provisioning guidelines.
Initial device configuration followed a hands-on hardware workflow, technicians connected the power cord and Ethernet cable to the clock and the wall, and any add-ons were plugged into the USB ports including wireless modules, proximity readers, card swipe readers, cameras, and optional biometric readers. The clock requires about one minute to start and indicate connection by displaying a blue bar at the top of the screen. Configuration steps documented included setting a device password via the Device and Password tabs to protect configuration settings, entering a descriptive Device Name rather than a generic label, and confirming network settings under the Network tab where DHCP is the default or a static IP can be applied. Under the Server tab implementers were instructed to use the Server URL https//113870.tcplusondemond.com:443 and set the Namespace to 113870, and the Configure option is reserved for special add-on circumstances.
Operational registration and integration into campus HR timekeeping required outreach to central HR IS, implementers were instructed to email HR_IS@mail.colostate.edu with Department, Device Name, Device ID, and a list of add-ons so HR IS could complete server-side configuration. After HR IS finishes configuration, implementers are to push the Restart Terminal button in Device Settings to finalize provisioning, at which point the clock becomes operational. Indicator lights were documented for onsite troubleshooting, with the left light indicating wall power, the middle light indicating an optional backup battery, and the right light indicating network connection to the system.
Governance controls included a recommended password protection policy for device configuration and a device naming convention to ensure unique identification during HR IS enrollment. Centralized final activation by HR IS established a two-step process, local hardware setup followed by centralized server registration and a restart for activation, preserving institutional oversight over time capture devices.

Des Moines Public Schools | Education | 5000 | $1.3B | United States | TimeClock Plus | TCP Core Time Clock | Time Clock (Hardware) | 2011 | n/a |
In 2011 Des Moines Public Schools implemented TCP Core Time Clock as its Time Clock (Hardware) solution to centralize time and attendance for the district. The deployment was led by vendor TimeClock Plus and targeted the district's approximately 5,000 employee base across K-12 operations.
The implementation paired TimeClock Plus Hybrid Edition software with Ethernet RDT 200 Series clocking terminals, delivering a combined hardware and application stack under the TCP Core Time Clock name. The TimeClock Plus Hybrid Edition provided employee self-service from both a web browser environment and a client server platform, enabling flexible UI deployment and standard time and labor management workflows. The Hybrid Edition was specified to interface with over 300 payroll software packages, explicitly including SunGard BusinessPLUS.
TimeClock Plus documented Go Live Services built on proven practices to manage implementation, cutover activities, and end user onboarding to support a smooth and effective transition to the TCP Core Time Clock. The package was described as assisting the District in providing more accurate, detailed, and reliable timekeeping information, and the vendor positioned itself as the exclusive SunGard K-12 Education Preferred Solutions Provider for time and attendance.
