In 2012, Caparol Romania implemented TotalSoft Charisma Analyzer as the analytics layer within a broader Charisma ERP deployment. The TotalSoft Charisma Analyzer provided Analytics and BI capabilities to centralize financial and sales performance reporting and to deliver aggregated, rapid information to the commercial and controlling functions.
The overall Charisma ERP implementation encompassed functional modules for financial accounting, inventory, purchasing, sales and fixed assets, with a dedicated production module to manage the colouring process. A warehouse management module was integrated into Charisma to enable unitary product management, including reception, inventory and delivery across multiple storage locations. Article generation and price calculation were automated inside Charisma so that a coloured product, its cost and any discount could be created simultaneously with an offer or order.
Integrations were implemented between the production module and the application running on the paint colouring machines so recipe updates in the colouring machines flowed into the ERP automatically, removing discrepancies between production and discharge. The deployment spanned corporate headquarters, two factories producing plaster paints and polystyrene, and distribution warehouses in Bucharest, Sancraiu de Mureș, Cluj Napoca and Timișoara, and extended reporting to the network of retail showrooms. Procurement and delivery workflows were orchestrated across headquarters, warehouses, production units and external providers using the single Charisma database.
Governance and process changes standardized logistics and commercial procedures and created a transparent workflow that automates procurement and delivery activity. The implementation delivered explicit operational outcomes reported by the company, including automated data transmission between colouring machines and the financial accounting system, elimination of parallel physical and written stock management in favor of a single system, real time tracking of sales and inventory, removal of delivery errors and wrong prices, and reduced sales and delivery lead times.
