Andersen Tax | Banking and Financial Services | 1900 | $3.0B | United States | xAssets | xAssets IT Asset Management | Hardware Asset Management (HAM),Software Asset Management (SAM),IT Asset Management (ITAM),SaaS Spend Management | 2013 | n/a |
In 2013, Andersen Tax implemented xAssets IT Asset Management to address fragmented inventory and procurement processes across its domestic operations. The deployment targeted Hardware Asset Management (HAM),Software Asset Management (SAM),IT Asset Management (ITAM),SaaS Spend Management requirements and replaced ad hoc tracking with a centralized on premise CMDB and discovery toolset. Andersen Tax moved away from WASP Barcode Technologies and manual Excel spreadsheets, establishing a controlled on premise application footprint behind the corporate firewall to maintain database construct and maintenance.
The xAssets IT Asset Management implementation included a full suite of functional modules, specifically fixed asset management and financials, IT asset management, service management and help desk, network discovery, barcoding, alerts, asset life cycle and procurement. The configuration emphasized automated discovery, barcode scanning and bulk import workflows, support for serial number tracking and mobile device management, and predefined reporting templates. Configurable workflow types were implemented to support purchase request, purchase order and approval processes rather than relying on email and phone communications.
Integrations were executed where specified, notably Active Directory integration to map location hierarchy using organizational unit structure, and processes to correlate discovered software installations with Microsoft licensing statements for license compliance reporting. xAssets software recognition database updates and customized imports were applied for Adobe products and third party data sources to normalize software titles. Regular imports including purchase and invoice values were scheduled weekly to keep the ITAM CMDB synchronized with procurement data, and discovery identified a larger estate than prior records indicated, including physical and virtual servers, workstations and network devices.
Governance and operational change centered on moving asset lifecycle control into the ITAM tool, enabling tracking of parent child relationships, ownership changes and location exceptions. Reporting capabilities were configured for scheduled and on demand delivery, including exception reports, color coded outputs and alerts for warranties and contract expirations to support firm management and technology services oversight. The combined implementation provided Andersen Tax with an auditable inventory, improved software compliance processes, and a streamlined procurement to CMDB update cadence using the xAssets IT Asset Management suite.

Panasonic North America | Manufacturing | 4000 | $1.0B | United States | xAssets | xAssets IT Asset Management | Hardware Asset Management (HAM),Software Asset Management (SAM),IT Asset Management (ITAM),SaaS Spend Management | 2005 | n/a |
In 2005, Panasonic North America implemented xAssets IT Asset Management to centralize IT asset and software management across Panasonic Electronic Devices Corporation of America operations. xAssets IT Asset Management was installed in March 2005 at PEDCA and was chosen to consolidate discovery, Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), and SaaS Spend Management functions while also replacing the existing Track-IT help desk into a single solution across three main manufacturing facilities and their multiple plants.
The deployment included xAssets Network Discovery and xAssets Enterprise components, with Network Discovery providing fast, low network bandwidth, zero footprint discovery and a hard disk scan that inventoried hundreds of desktops in minutes. Functional capabilities implemented included automated discovery, hardware inventory, software title discovery and classification, and assignment of purchased software assets to specific desktops, with software license purchases entered via manual input and spreadsheet data loads through the Enterprise integration engine. Software license reporting was customized to Panasonic requirements to support compliance tracking at cost center and plant levels.
Operational coverage extended to plant, facility, country, and global oversight, reflecting plant-level budget ownership for software purchases and the need to report software compliance to multiple governance tiers. Software compliance reports were produced monthly for senior management in Japan and for each plant and facility, with ad-hoc reports available by location, cost center, software title, or user. The implementation remained in continuous use for at least 15 years, providing sustained centralized visibility into software compliance and asset assignment.
