Brown & Gay Engineers, Inc. Professional Services 600 $100M United States VMware by Broadcom VeloCloud VMware NSX SD-WAN SD-WAN 2018 Meriplex In 2018, Brown & Gay Engineers, Inc. deployed VeloCloud VMware NSX SD-WAN to re-architect its wide area network. Meriplex Communications served as the implementation partner and proposed SD-WAN to deliver completely redundant connectivity across the firm, initiating a program to replace existing MPLS circuits with SD-WAN across all connected sites. The VeloCloud VMware NSX SD-WAN implementation established an SD-WAN overlay with centralized orchestration and edge appliances at branch and datacenter locations, configured for dynamic traffic steering and transport redundancy. Configuration work emphasized policy-based routing and automated failover between transport methods to preserve session continuity during individual link outages, consistent with standard SD-WAN operational capabilities. Integrations focused on coexisting with and progressively supplanting MPLS and broadband transports, enabling active-active transport usage and redundant connectivity while central management consolidated visibility for IT and network operations. The deployment covered all connected sites and impacted WAN management, network operations, and incident response workflows within Brown & Gay Engineers, Inc. Meriplex worked with BGE to phase the rollout and operationalize governance through centralized policy controls and updated network operations procedures. Michael Franklin, CIO, reported that NSX SD-WAN "just works and keeps our business running, even when there are outages with one of our transport methods," reflecting the stated objective of fully redundant connectivity.
Manhard Consulting Professional Services 250 $30M United States VMware by Broadcom VeloCloud VMware NSX SD-WAN SD-WAN 2018 Truth Communications In 2018 Manhard Consulting implemented VeloCloud VMware NSX SD-WAN as its SD-WAN solution after evaluating alternatives and conducting a proof of concept. A three month POC at three separate sites validated the approach and informed the decision to expand beyond an initial carrier deployment that limited access to only two cloud gateways. Following the POC Manhard Consulting migrated to a fully managed value added reseller engagement with Truth Communications powered by NSX SD-WAN. The production architecture provided full access to all NSX SD-WAN Gateways, which numbered 18 worldwide, NSX SD-WAN Edges deployed at each branch office to connect to the cloud, and the NSX SD-WAN Orchestrator for centralized visibility and policy management. Operational coverage extended across Manhard Consulting branch locations and was planned to include any new locations acquired going forward, shifting network operations to a managed VAR model. Key business functions impacted included network infrastructure and IT operations, with orchestration and edge provisioning used to standardize branch connectivity and cloud access. Truth Communications led the deployment and continued management, and the POC success directly drove the rollout strategy. Manhard Consulting reported that VeloCloud VMware NSX SD-WAN transformed their network into a dynamic and responsive infrastructure that could support growth, a conclusion summarized by Don Willemarck, Director of IT, Manhard Consulting.
