Apps Purchases: 10+ Million Software Purchases
Founded in 2010, APPS RUN THE WORLD is a leading technology intelligence and market-research company devoted to the application space. Leveraging a rigorous data-centric research methodology, we ask the simple B2B sales intelligence question: Who’s buying enterprise applications from whom and why?
Our global team of 50 researchers has been studying the digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by 2 million + companies including technographic segmentation of 10 million ERP, EPM, CRM, HCM, Procurement, SCM, Treasury software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions and perhaps the rise and fall of certain vendors and their products on a quarterly basis.
Apps Run The World Buyer Insight and Technographics Customer Database has over 100 data fields that detail company usage of emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database, and different on-prem and cloud apps by function, customer size (employees, revenues), industry, country, implementation status, year deal won, partner involvement, Line of Business Key Stakeholders and key decision-makers contact details, including the systems being used by Fortune 1000 and Global 2000 companies.

Collins Aerospace | Aerospace and Defense | 80000 | $28.3B | United States | Sensitech | SensiWatch Platform | Real-Time Transportation Visibility | 2015 | n/a | In 2015 Collins Aerospace implemented the SensiWatch Platform from Sensitech to establish Real-Time Transportation Visibility across targeted operational workflows. Sensitech led all phases of the software development life cycle within an Agile development environment, delivering four discrete project implementations focused on operational visibility and condition monitoring. The SensiWatch Platform implementation comprised four primary modules, implemented as distinct product deliveries. MROLife provided a 360° view of the aftermarket supply chain to improve part-level visibility and status tracking. Commits centralized supplier delivery commitments and exception handling to streamline inbound logistics and supplier coordination. SensiWatch Site delivered continuous food temperature monitoring capabilities for site-level compliance and environmental monitoring, while Prism Reliability provided HVAC reliability forecasting to support facilities maintenance planning. Operational coverage extended across Collins Aerospace and Carrier deployments and touched business functions in aftermarket supply chain, supplier operations, site facilities, and maintenance engineering. The implementation aligned with Real-Time Transportation Visibility functional patterns, including sensor telemetry ingestion, condition and location monitoring, dashboarding for operational users, and alerting for exceptions and threshold breaches. These capabilities were delivered as part of iterative Agile releases aligned to product and operational owners. Governance for the SensiWatch Platform was executed through a full SDLC approach under Agile process governance, with Sensitech driving requirements, development, and delivery of the four projects. Rollout emphasized modular product delivery and operational handoffs to supply chain, facilities, and maintenance teams to embed real-time visibility workflows into day to day operations.

Lumi | Professional Services | 20 | $2M | United States | Shipwell | Shipwell Real-Time Visibility and Control | Real-Time Transportation Visibility | 2019 | n/a | In 2019, Lumi implemented Shipwell Real-Time Visibility and Control, deploying the Shipwell Real-Time Visibility and Control application to establish continuous shipment monitoring and centralized logistics oversight. The deployment used Shipwell as a cloud-based Transportation Management System to provide real-time visibility on shipments and to manage end-to-end supply chain processes under the Real-Time Transportation Visibility category. The configuration emphasized real-time shipment visibility and supply chain management capabilities, implementing shipment tracking, order and load management, event-driven status updates, exception detection and routing, and a control plane for operational oversight. Functional workflows were configured to support dispatch operations and client service interactions, with automation of status propagation and exception alerts to reduce manual tracking. Shipwell was provisioned as a cloud SaaS platform with a web-based operations console and carrier-facing interfaces to surface live status to Lumi teams, reflecting a lightweight cloud-native deployment appropriate for a 20-person professional services firm. Operational coverage focused on shipment operations and supply chain coordination, with role-based access configured for dispatch and operations staff and simplified onboarding for carrier partners. Governance centered on institutionalizing shipment workflows and exception handling processes, establishing routine operational practices for dispatch and client service teams, and using the Shipwell Real-Time Visibility and Control application to centralize shipment data for decision making.
