In 2018, United Refining Company implemented Fidelity NetBenefits to provide centralized Benefits Administration for its approximately 4,000 employees in the United States. The deployment targeted employee enrollment and benefits package provisioning across retail convenience store operations and corporate HR populations.
The Fidelity NetBenefits deployment emphasized employee self-service enrollment, benefits package configuration, eligibility management, and administrative workflows for benefits plans, consistent with standard Benefits Administration capabilities. Configuration activities included defining plan offerings, setting up user access and account provisioning, and mapping enrollment workflows so associates could create accounts and elect coverage through Fidelity NetBenefits.
Operational rollout included hands-on account setup support at the store level, reflected by manager-assisted enrollment activity at Kwik Fill Buffalo, NY where associates received help to get their benefit packages set up through Fidelity during November 2021 to October 2022. Governance placed HR as the owner of enrollment processes while store managers and local HR contacts supported onboarding and account activation, using documented provisioning and assistance workflows to drive employee adoption.
