Scribe | Manufacturing | 2500 | $300M | Mexico | SAP | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | 2005 | KIO Networks | In 2005, Scribe implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial system. The deployment targeted Scribe’s manufacturing operations in Mexico and centralized core financial processes including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, and inventory valuation workflows. The implementation encompassed SAP ERP ECC 6.0 alongside SAP BW, deployed on an AIX operating system with IBM DB2 as the database platform. A Basis consultant provided SAP Basis services for system installation, configuration, transport landscape management, and ongoing SAP system support and administration for both SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and BW. Infrastructure work included a platform migration that moved SAP landscapes from HP-UX with DB2 to an AIX with DB2 stack, consolidating ERP and BW instances on the AIX DB2 environment while retaining DB2 as the database technology. KIO Networks was engaged as the SI VAR for the project, and the engagement was associated with Nasoft for supplemental SAP system support and administration activities. Operational governance emphasized SAP system support and administration processes, with the Basis consultant responsible for platform-level maintenance, SAP kernel and patch management, and production support workflows for SAP ERP ECC 6.0. The configuration and operational design focused on standard ERP Financial capabilities to support finance and manufacturing business functions across Scribe’s Mexico operations. | |
