Clayton Holdings | Banking and Financial Services | 500 | $70M | United States | Appian | Appian IDP | Intelligent Document Processing | 2015 | n/a | In 2015, Clayton Holdings deployed Appian IDP to support Intelligent Document Processing for its lending operations. Clayton Holdings Appian IDP Intelligent Document Processing supports underwriting and due diligence business functions across multiple loan projects. The Appian IDP implementation encompassed document ingestion, PDF consolidation and indexing, document extraction and movement, folder creation and upload, and structured capture of verification data. Functional activities performed through the system included obtaining written and verbal employment verifications, deposit verifications, ordering credit reports, 4506-T tax transcript orders, Social Security verifications, Data Verify reporting, appraisals, AVM and field review management, and combining and indexing PDF files. The deployment integrated explicitly with Adobe Acrobat for PDF combining and indexing, used Excel tracking spreadsheets to organize loans and verifications of employment, and interfaced operationally with Clayton's proprietary E-clas loan system for loan data entry and with the Appian loan Tracking System for workflow completion. Operational coverage included project transaction managers, project leads, and underwriting and due diligence teams, with periodic communication to external financial institutions regarding loan delivery and turnaround times. Governance and day to day workflow relied on Excel trackers alongside Appian IDP records, with staff creating folders, extracting and moving documents, uploading files, and completing Appian loan Tracking System entries. The implementation supported production volumes averaging 40 to 70 loans per day depending on project needs, with processes organized around verification capture, document indexing, and loan record completion.

Addiko Bank | Banking and Financial Services | 2475 | $248M | Austria | Appian | Appian IDP | Intelligent Document Processing | 2018 | n/a | In 2018 Addiko Bank implemented Appian IDP in the Apps Category to simplify retail loan intake and accelerate credit decisioning. The deployment focused on automating end to end loan processing workflows and introducing time to yes decisioning for consumer and small business lending. The implementation targeted Addiko's regional operations across South and Eastern Europe, aligning application logic with the bank's lending policy and customer servicing functions. Appian IDP was configured to capture and process application documents, extract structured data, and feed that data into automated underwriting flows and case management. The solution combined workflow orchestration, rule based decisioning and exception routing to support loan officer review and final approval steps. Configuration emphasized faster straight through processing where possible and human in the loop reviews for higher risk cases. Governance aligned process owners in lending, credit risk and customer service to the new Appian IDP workflows, with role based approvals and operational service level objectives aimed at a three working day time to yes. As implemented, Addiko decreased average customer waiting time by half and achieved lending decisions within three working days, unlocking large savings and improving the bank's competitiveness, a change noted to influence banking practices in South and Eastern Europe. Operational coverage centered on loan origination and credit decisioning with ongoing oversight from the bank's lending governance team.
