In 2018 Addiko Bank implemented Appian IDP in the Apps Category to simplify retail loan intake and accelerate credit decisioning. The deployment focused on automating end to end loan processing workflows and introducing time to yes decisioning for consumer and small business lending. The solution combined workflow orchestration, rule based decisioning and exception routing to support loan officer review and final approval steps. Configuration emphasized faster straight through processing where possible and human in the loop reviews for higher risk cases.
Governance aligned process owners in lending, credit risk and customer service to the new Appian IDP workflows, with role based approvals and operational service level objectives aimed at a three working day time to yes. As implemented, Addiko decreased average customer waiting time by half and achieved lending decisions within three working days, unlocking large savings and improving the bank's competitiveness, a change noted to influence banking practices in South and Eastern Europe.
