Merck Group Life Sciences 62557 $24.9B Germany FIS Global FIS Treasury and Risk Manager - Quantum Edition Treasury Management 2016 Leadvise Reply In 2016 Merck Group implemented FIS Treasury and Risk Manager - Quantum Edition as the core of a new Treasury Management environment, engaging Leadvise Reply to manage a complex concurrent transition while the incumbent system continued to operate. The multi-year initiative lasted over six years, with the payment component rolled out in 2016 and the full hosted environment going live in 2017, driven by the need to retain existing treasury capabilities and to satisfy regulatory programs including SEPA and EMIR alongside ongoing M&A activity and a Bundesbank review. The implementation centered on preserving and replicating core treasury functions that included intercompany clearing, cross currency pooling, a payment factory and host to host bank connections, while adding an integrated risk management layer. FIS Treasury and Risk Manager - Quantum Edition was paired with FIS Trax for bank connectivity, and the solution design incorporated Swift Connectivity hosted by Finastra, Swift for Embargo Screening, deal confirmation services from Finastra and Tipco for reporting, delivering a completely web based and hosted architecture to accommodate Merck Group’s heterogeneous subsidiary ERP landscape. Integration scope and operational coverage were substantial, the joint Leadvise Reply and Merck team developing roughly 80 interfaces and connecting more than 40 ERP systems across subsidiaries, with a rollout strategy that maintained the legacy environment in parallel to avoid disruption. The web hosted approach reduced Merck’s internal infrastructure footprint and supported a globally optimized treasury operating model, while the RFP and selection process highlighted the need for a multi vendor, orchestrated solution because no single provider met the entire set of requirements. Governance and knowledge transfer were formalized through a joint project organization, extensive requirement definition driven by an 800 question RFP and staged tactical delivery to ensure regulatory and operational continuity. Leadvise Reply executed a comprehensive transfer of knowledge and on site training ahead of final cutover, and the program’s successful outcome was recognized with the TMI Award for Innovation and Excellence.
