Pinewood Healthcare | Life Sciences | 320 | $84M | Ireland | SAP | SAP R/3 - Production and Planning | Advanced Planning and Scheduling | 2006 | n/a | In 2006 Pinewood Healthcare implemented SAP R/3 - Production and Planning to support Advanced Planning and Scheduling across its Irish manufacturing operations. The deployment covered two sites, Ballymacarbry in Tipperary and a Dublin facility, following the company's acquisition by Wockhardt in 2006 which required GMP standardisation with other Wockhardt sites. The implementation activated core ERP and planning modules including SD, PP, MM, WM, QM, CS and FI & CO, with a focus on PP for shop floor scheduling and materials planning. SAP R/3 - Production and Planning was configured to handle production orders, MRP runs, capacity planning and integration points for quality management and warehouse movements. Local development included new SAP R/3 transactions and bespoke MIS reports, SAP-BIW reporting and data warehouse feeds, with in-house programming and PL/SQL used to support report automation and reconciliations. Integrations were explicit and operational, daily sales orders from BOS, PIMS and the AAH website were routed into SAP R/3, and synchronization of transactions from Alloga UK 3PL Server to SAP Plant 6526 handled stock and sales activity. The SAP-BIW data warehouse received daily transaction uploads and monthly master data loads, with monthly reconciliations between SAP R/3 and BIW to surface and resolve anomalies. Operational tooling included SAP's TMS change control ticketing managed to closure and Trackwise user administration for quality workflows. Projects and changes were governed to Good Manufacturing Practice standards, with formal validation, test results, change control forms and sign off by Quality or Head of Department where required. The Senior Project Manager role led planning, testing and go live activities, following SDLC practices to ensure operational continuity during business hours and month end processing. Daily monitoring of BI report delivery and data uploads was required to maintain MIS availability and support production planning and scheduling functions. | |
