Bassett Healthcare Network Healthcare 1550 $1.2B United States Epic Systems Epic Cosmos Data Warehouse 2018 n/a In 2018 Bassett Healthcare Network implemented Epic Cosmos as its centralized Data Warehouse to aggregate enterprise clinical and administrative data within its Epic ecosystem. Epic Cosmos was positioned to serve as the authoritative analytical repository supporting clinical reporting and downstream analytics across the organization. The deployment was configured to ingest and normalize data feeds from Epic modules including ASAP, Ambulatory, Care Everywhere, Link, Healthy Planet, MyChart, and Wisdom. Configuration work focused on standardizing encounter and patient-level records, establishing a unified patient index and curated subject areas that support clinical quality, population health, and operational reporting workflows. Integrations were explicit to the broader Epic footprint, with Cosmos receiving source data from emergency department and ambulatory systems, interoperability feeds via Care Everywhere, third-party interface traffic via Link, population health datasets aligned to Healthy Planet, clinical decision support signals from Wisdom, and patient portal activity from MyChart. The Data Warehouse design emphasized serving analytics consumers in clinical operations, care management, quality improvement, and finance through modeled data marts and extract services for reporting. Governance and operationalization were managed by Bassett IT and clinical analytics stakeholders, with phased onboarding of module feeds and clinical validation cycles for each subject area. Data access controls, cataloging of reports and datasets, and workflow alignment between IT, informatics, and clinical teams were established to sustain COSMOS as the primary analytics platform within the Epic environment.
