Oxford Nanopore Technologies | Life Sciences | 1315 | $233M | United Kingdom | Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations | ERP Financial | 2021 | In 2021 Oxford Nanopore Technologies upgraded from Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, deploying an ERP Financial solution from Microsoft. The upgrade was scoped alongside a planned user training program that initially targeted approximately 350 staff while the internal project support team consisted of five people. Optimum, an end user training specialist, performed a RapidScope analysis of training needs and produced role based materials aligned to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. Training deliverables covered D365 generics, commercial operations, production and customer service, and included quick cards for light users, detailed reference guides, a suite of eLearning with videos, and trainer packs for subject matter experts, all developed within a three week knowledge transfer window. The implementation and training were coordinated with the implementation partner listed as Altice USA while Optimum provided the external training design and documentation to support in house delivery. Project timelines were revised to reflect staff availability, some courses were shortened, and portions of the eLearning were accelerated to meet the new go live schedule. Governance and operational practice shifted toward specialist designed training to relieve the project team and enable SMEs to deliver structured sessions using the supplied trainer packs. Go live went very smoothly according to client feedback, and Oxford Nanopore Technologies has adopted the quick card structure for ongoing Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations training. |
