Marion County and Indianapolis | Government | 800 | $200M | United States | Tungsten Automation | Tungsten TotalAgility (formerly Kofax TotalAgility) | Intelligent Document Processing | 2017 |
In 2017, Marion County and Indianapolis deployed Tungsten TotalAgility to address cumbersome manual warrant processing under an Intelligent Document Processing program. The initiative targeted the Marion Superior Court, which manages criminal case filings for the county and comprises 36 elected judges, 29 commissioners and magistrates, and more than 750 administrative staff, with deployment driven by a need to accelerate submission, review and authorization workflows for high volumes of warrants.
Working with implementation partner BerkOne, the deployment used Tungsten TotalAgility formerly Kofax TotalAgility alongside Kofax Transformation and Kofax Import Connector to instantiate core Cognitive Capture, Mobility and Engagement, and Process Orchestration capabilities. Configuration emphasized automated capture of paper and electronic filings, intelligent document transformation, routing and exception handling, and mobility-enabled submission to allow remote intake and reviewer assignment.
Operational integration relied on the Kofax Import Connector to feed transformed warrant documents into the court’s downstream systems and to orchestrate multi-step approval paths, maintaining electronic document records in place of paper files. The Intelligent Document Processing stack was applied specifically to warrant processing across Marion Superior Court operations, standardizing input formats, metadata extraction and workflow handoffs across judicial and administrative functions.
Governance and rollout were organized around court process owners and administrative staff, with BerkOne supporting configuration, pilot testing and staged adoption, and process orchestration redefining submission, review and authorization touch points. By replacing paper files with digital documents, Marion County streamlined submission, review and authorization processes for warrants, reducing manual handling and centralizing document processing for court operations.
