The architectural approach prioritized the SAP integrative system suite to enable a phased, highly integrative landscape rather than isolated point solutions. A subsequent roadmap step specifies introduction of SAP S/4HANA Retail for Merchandise Management to present merchandise management processes, mapping master data management, supplier management, dispatch and procurement, auditing, inventory and inventory management, warehouse logistics and returns processing for gradual integration with finance.
Governance and rollout were managed by consenso Consulting under a holistic implementation mandate, maintaining planned cutover milestones and detailed process mapping across finance functions. Operational scope covered finance and controlling teams responsible for ledgers, receivables, payables, fixed assets, bank postings and consolidation workflows.
SAP S/4 HANA Finance was successfully implemented in October 2018, completing the initial finance and controlling carve out and establishing the foundation for subsequent retail integration.

In 2020 AGRAVIS Raiffeisen implemented SAP S/4 Hana - Inventory Management as part of its DOCK program, with consenso Consulting engaged as the implementation partner. The DOCK program, initiated in 2019 to introduce S/4HANA across the group, specifically delivered a focused SAP MDG rollout for Business Partner master data as a component of the Inventory Management landscape.
The implementation centered on SAP Master Data Governance under S/4HANA to standardize business partner master data, using MDG application forms and SAP Fiori tiles for creation and change workflows. Business partner objects were modeled with explicit roles such as debitor, creditor, sold-to and ship-to party to eliminate previously fragmented role data, and MDG introduced a one-step maintenance process with an immediate first duplicate check at application entry.
Prior in-house systems IRIS and the Online Stammdaten Service were decommissioned as MDG became the central master data tool, and compliance screening moved to real time through the same external service provider used previously. The central MDG instance now supports operational coverage across wholesale, stores and energy functions, processing well over 6,500 business partner creation or change applications per month, and enabled rapid consolidation of more than 2,000 customers from a newly acquired company into the central master data set.
The MDG Business Partner project moved from initiation to go-live after a nine month implementation, with go-live achieved on 31 January 2023, and governance changes included consolidated creation, validation and archiving of general terms and conditions directly within MDG. Reported post go-live effects that are part of the project record include an initially increased maintenance effort that has since been compensated, a reduction in data redundancy, simplified maintenance workflows and improved transparency for master data operations.
